Seattleites danced the afternoon away to the sounds of Kiki Valera y su Son Cubano. Valera is a multi-instrumentalist, best known for his mastery of the eight-stringed Cuban cuatro guitar. In Cuba, the Valera Miranda family continues a legacy of Son Cubano and other traditional music. Kiki Valera joined the Seattle music scene almost a decade ago.

The band included Coco Freeman, Joe de Jesus, Pedro Vargas, Javier Marú, Steve Guasch, and Alex Dyring. Self-taught DJ Tremenda Diosa opened.

The Seattle Festál Music at the Mural free concert series at Seattle Center concludes tomorrow, September 12. The Djeliyah Band Featuring Kouyaté Arts will perform at noon.
