South African pianist, vocalist, and composer Nduduzo Makhathini performed at the Royal Room on July 1, 2023. His trio included Francisco Mela (drums) and Zwelakhe-Duma Bell Le Pere (bass). Makhathini released his latest album, In the Spirit of Ntu, in 2022.

The show was the final event in the Earshot Jazz Spring Concert Series. Earshot’s month-long annual festival typically begins in October.
