The annual Wiener Dog and Wannabe Races returned to Emerald Downs on August 25, 2024. See coverage of the 2021 event here.

The Wiener Wannabe champion was “Ice Ice Lady” (trained by Trevor Schneider of Seattle), who defeated “Arlo the Long Boi” (trained by Jamie Jensen of Auburn) in a photo finish. Wannabes are any small dogs excluding dachshunds.

“Luca” (trained by Alexandra Borowiecki of Seattle) sped past the competition to become the Wiener Dog winner for a third time. The smooth-haired piebald completed the 50-yard course in about five seconds.
