New York City-based jazz vocalist Jazzmeia Horn and her trio played two nights at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley. Personnel included Keith Brown (piano), Kristopher Funn (bass), and Russell Carter (drums). (Read a review of the show in All About Jazz.)
While in town, Horn also recorded a session at Seattle’s KEXP. The set aired live, and will appear online at a later date. (Update: Watch the video here.)
In September, Horn released Dear Love—which, like her previous two albums, has been nominated for a GRAMMY award. It features her big band, Her Noble Force. Along with composing, arranging, and performing on the album, she also released it on her own label, Empress Legacy Records.
