The 2021 Earshot Jazz Festival Begins Tonight

2021-10-13 Hardly Raining

Today marks the beginning of Seattle’s 2021 Earshot Jazz Festival. The 33rd annual event will take place at venues across the city through November 7.

Due to the pandemic, the festival occurred only virtually in 2020. This year, both virtual and in-person viewing options are available. In-person attendance will require proof of either COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test.

As always, the festival offers a mix of renowned and emerging jazz artists, with an explicit focus on diversity representation and anti-racism. Headliners include pianist Chucho Valdés, vocalist Dianne Reeves, and saxophonist Joe Lovano. Featured Resident Artist multi-instrumentalist Marina Albero will be performing at four shows.

Access concert previews in this month’s issue of Earshot Jazz, and read show recommendations in The Seattle Times. Visit www.earshot.org for the full schedule and tickets.
