Protesters rallied in the Chinatown–International District on September 23, 2023 to demand justice for Jaahnavi Kandula.

Kandula, a 23-year-old graduate student, was killed by a police vehicle in January 2023. Body-camera footage released this month revealed that a Seattle Police Department officer had made callous remarks about Kandula’s death, prompting local and international outrage.

Family members of people killed by police addressed the crowd. Then the group marched to the Seattle Police Officers Guild headquarters.
